María

María is a young girl currently in her sixth year of primary school. She is from Loma Linda, a small, rural, coffee-farming community located in southwest Guatemala. She lives with her parents and five siblings.

María is an excellent student who loves to learn. Her favorite pastime is reading. Her favorite color is sky blue and her favorite food is sausage with eggs.

María has several medical problems, including frequent dizziness and flu. The nearest health center is 35 kilometers away, which makes receiving proper care very difficult.
